Het Nieuwe Water, between the towns of Naaldwijk and ’s-Gravenzande in the Netherlands, is a unique area development project that combines living by and on the water with recreation and leisure in an unprecedented way. On some 80 hectares of reclaimed land in a region formerly devoted to greenhouse horticulture, Europe's first neighborhood on the water will take form between 2010 and 2019, offering a variety of apartments, stilt homes, mound homes, townhomes, semi-detached homes, floating private islands and private lots.
Floating private islands, each with its own unique relationship to the water, are one of the many styles available in Het Nieuwe Water. These homes are currently under development.
