Abundant living in a water-rich polder
Het Nieuwe Water is a unique neighborhood being developed in the Poelpolder area between the towns of Naaldwijk and 's-Gravenzande. More than 80 hectares of former greenhouse land once reclaimed from the sea will be reflooded and transformed into a stunning ecological zone where living, recreation and water storage come together. The result is an intimate, secure center providing safe and above all fine living.
Het Nieuwe Water is the first neighborhood built on water to have some 1,200 water-related homes: a variety of apartments, private lots, stilt homes, mound homes, townhomes, semi-detached homes and floating private islands. Phased construction will continue through 2019 for eight "water chambers," each with its own ambience, architectural style and relationship to water. This architectural vitality and diversity enrich the character of this unique neighborhood.
Het Nieuwe Water is a model for the dual use of space and for living in other reclaimed areas that will be reunited with water in the future: an extraordinary, revitalizing plan in which water is the essential factor connecting quality living to exquisite surroundings.
